Which Book Should We Read in October?

Time to vote on which book we should read this month. For October, we chose a Halloween theme which didn’t have to scary or spooky, but did need to include a strong element that’s traditionally associated with Halloween. We’re happy say we have 6 great books which fall into this category including reads from Iraq, Mexico, England, & Peru as well as a story collection featuring Indigenous authors from Canada & the US!

But before we get to the vote, check out this mixology book I found to help you craft perfectly witchy cocktails & mocktails.

“Most every witch knows that drinks are fantastic vessels for spellcasting, intention setting, and personal healing. This enchanting book for magical mixologists will teach you how to craft exquisite cocktails, each paired with a ritual or spell, to help you find love, conjure courage, attract money, and more. Whether you’re simply curious about the spiritual realm or a seasoned practitioner, you’ll bring more magic and merriment into your life as you create witchy libations everyone will love.

  • Learn witchcraft and cocktail basics—Expertly craft magical cocktails with tips for supplies, brewing techniques, and how to tap into your innate powers.

  • Throw a spellbinding party—Discover mystical reasons to celebrate (like the summer solstice) and make your party sparkle with tips on what to buy and how to decorate.

  • Mix up 80 magical cocktails—Create a wide variety of powerful cocktails to improve every area of your life, including love and friendship, beginnings and endings, and strength and boundaries.
